Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Starry Mind Academy respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data it collects. This policy explains what data we process, why, and what rights you have, in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
Data controller
The data controller is Starry Mind Academy, an independent educational project based in Italy.
To exercise your rights, or for any request concerning your data, you can write to us from the contact page, where you will find the form and the email address. We reply within thirty days, as provided by the Regulation.
What data we collect and why
Data sent through the contact form. If you write to us through the form on the Contact page, we collect your name, your email address, your message and, if you provide it, the profile you selected. This data is sent directly to our mailbox, hosted on our hosting provider's European servers, and does not pass through any third-party service. We use it only to reply to you, we do not add it to any mailing list and we never pass it on. The legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the relevant box, which you may withdraw at any time by writing to us. We keep messages for as long as needed to handle the request and for a reasonable period afterwards, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
Browsing data (analytics). We use Umami (Umami Software, Inc.), a privacy-friendly analytics tool that helps us understand, in aggregate and anonymous form, how the site is used: pages visited, general visitor origin, device type. This tool does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable data: individual people cannot be identified. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the site.
Contact via email. If you email us, we will process the data you provide (name, email address, message content) solely to reply to you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in handling requests.
Cookies
This site does not use profiling or tracking cookies. The analytics tool we use does not install cookies on your device. For this reason, there is no cookie consent banner.
Who we share data with
We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties. Data may be processed by the service providers we use (e.g. the analytics tool), which act as data processors and are also bound by the GDPR.
Where data is processed
We are committed to using providers that process data within the European Union or that offer adequate GDPR compliance guarantees.
How long we keep data
Aggregated browsing data is kept for as long as necessary for statistical purposes. Any contact data is kept for as long as necessary to handle your request.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict its processing, object to processing, and request portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email shown on the site. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (in Italy, the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy over time. The date at the top indicates the last update.
